POLICE have been contacted after school pupils chased away a Nazi campaigner who apparently attempted to recruit them to his hateful ideology.

The man, who appeared to be caught on film telling children that the Holocaust was not real while defending Adolf Hitler, was shown beating a retreat after the pupils mocked him before pelting him with what are thought to be water bottles.

Footage shared online shows Larkhall Academy pupils arguing with the man, who was wearing a T-shirt bearing the black sun logo – a Nazi symbol from the Third Reich.

He is later seen walking away from a large group of young people while one throws what appears to be a bottle of water at him.

Local MSP Christina McKelvie, who is also the Scottish Government’s equalities minister, shared the footage on social media, branding the man’s alleged comments “hate speech”.

She tweeted: “Disgusted to see and hear hate speech at one of the schools in my constituency.

“I will be in contact with the school, the council and the police to see what can be done to prevent this type of hate. This is on the back of disgraceful racist leaflets distributed to the area.”
