NICOLA Sturgeon is the most influential woman in the UK, according to a new online report.

Scotland’s First Minister saw off the likes of screenwriter and actress Michaela Coel and the Queen in The Body Shop's study, which looked at Google searches, Wikipedia page views, social media followers and even gifs.

Sturgeon was also named among the most influential people in the world, ranking 20th on the leaderboard.

That places the SNP leader alongside US vice president Kamala Harris and American star Oprah Winfrey.

Sturgeon ranked ahead of former first lady Michelle Obama and former US presidential candidate Hilary Clinton.

The study reports that Nicola Sturgeon was Google searched more than 5.2 million times in the UK in 2020.

This places her ahead of megastars Taylor Swift, Kylie Jenner and Beyonce. The First Minister was only behind by Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish and Kim Kardashian, according to the report.
