AN independence march through Stirling attracted around 2000 people as the organisers say it shows people of the Yes movement are "keen to be back on the streets".

The march was organised by All Under One Banner (AUOB) and took place earlier today (September 11).

Videos show thousands of people marching through the city, waving saltires, playing the bagpipes and holding up banners in support of an independent Scotland.

The march began in the north of the city at the old Stirling bridge and went through the centre of Stirling to finish at the Bannockburn field.

AUOB tweeted during the march: "What a turnout today for #AUOBStirling with around 2000 People out loud & proud for Independence Now and the Dissolution of the Union, with the march still growing in size! This shows the movement is keen to be back on the streets.

"The fight for independence is on!"

AUOB said they left Bannockburn field "in a tidier condition than how we found it" after 2000 people marched through the city to the field.

The next AUOB march will take place in Edinburgh in two weekends time on Saturday, September 25.
