The National:

Newly elected Scottish Conservative MSP Tess White has clearly looked upon the reputation that her colleagues Murdo Fraser and Annie Wells have achieved for making asinine and idiotic comments in a bid for publicity and thought to herself, "I'll have me some of that".

Not half an hour after Nicola Sturgeon had called out Douglas Ross for the “infantile opposition politics" which is his party's stock in trade, up pops Tess White to prove that the Scottish Tories are perfectly capable of being even more infantile than they have been already.

Labour MSP Pauline McNeill asked a question on what the Scottish Government is doing to tackle racism, following the disgraceful scenes of anti-Irish racism perpetrated by a group of Rangers fans in Glasgow on Sunday.

The First Minister said she wanted Scotland to be an "open, welcoming country for all", to which White retorted "unless you're English”. Well, who knew that English people in Scotland are regularly subjected to mobs singing about being up to their knees in English blood, demanding that they "go home" while the mob gleefully exults in a historical tragedy that led to hundreds of thousands of English people dying? Who knew that English people in Scotland had historically been subjected to discrimination in employment and housing and denied access to professional jobs and sports and social clubs?
