INDEPENDENCE Live is becoming well known for the quality of the experts and pundits it is able to attract, and the next two Wednesday evening broadcasts show why.

The TNT show hosted by John Drummond will have as its guest this Wednesday Paul Middleton, Professor in the Theology and Religious Studies Department at the University of Chester.

Well known as an expert in early Christianity, and the author or editor of seven books, Middleton was born and brought up in Glasgow.

He studied Music then Theology at the University of Glasgow, Princeton Theological Seminary, and took a PhD at Edinburgh University.

Before moving into an academic career, he trained as a Church of Scotland minister.

He has held academic posts at the University of Edinburgh, the University of Wales Lampeter, and moved to Chester 10 years ago.

Paul is an SNP supporter in exile and he will be talking Scottish politics and more.

On Wednesday, August 18, John Drummond will be talking to Dr David Patrick, a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher, working as part of the International Studies Group at the University of the Free State in South Africa.

He specialises in analysing the manner in which various phenomena are depicted and discussed through the media.

His next book will be Front-Page Scotland: Newspapers and the Scottish Independence Referendum.

That should make for a fascinating conversation.
