THE UK Government’s lateral flow test website is telling people attempting to secure the kits that no more can be ordered and advising them to “come back tomorrow”.

As England removes the vast majority of Covid-19 restrictions despite quickly increasing cases today, people attempted to order the free tests – which members of the public are entitled to pick up twice a week from local pharmacies or the official website.

After allowing residents in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to put in their details the website stated: “No more rapid lateral flow tests can be ordered online or through the call centre today.

“Please try again tomorrow when more tests will be available.”

The tests are used by people with no Covid-19 symptoms in an effort to pick up asymptomatic cases and ensure those with the virus can self-isolate to protect others.

The UK Government says they are only guaranteed to be free until the end of this month, and a statement will be released on whether people will have to pay for them shortly.
