A THIRD of Scots have been given both doses of a coronavirus vaccine, new figures reveal.

The latest Public Health Scotland statistics show 2,897,975 people have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination and 1,468,296 have received their second dose.

Overall, 33.1% of Scots are thought to have been given both jags.

The daily update also shows another 200 people have contracted Covid-19 in Scotland.

No further deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours among people who tested positive in the previous 28 days, meaning the total under that measurement remains 7661.

However, registry offices are generally closed at weekends.

The new cases has a positivity rate of 1.5%, up from 1.2% the previous day. A total of 227,672 have now tested positive for the virus.
