4 IT’S Kiltwalk weekend starting on Friday, so get your tartan on and get walking in the name of a good cause, The generosity of Sir Tom Hunter knows no bounds and he doubles what the charities manage to raise, so far £20.6 million has been raised. The Kiltwalk will make its live return in Glasgow in 2021 and they are promising a very special Kiltwalk this year which will include a number of virtual surprises for participants.
Kiltwalkers are invited to don a bit of tartan and complete any socially distanced challenge they wish, from walking, running, cycling, hopping, skipping or jumping on a trampoline, to raise funds for the charity of their choice. 7 SCOTLAND’S young writers are being urged to put unleash their creativity by submitting a piece of writing as part of a new BBC Radio Scotland competition titled Climate Tales. Young people aged between five and 16 years old are being encouraged to enter a short story, poem, written word piece, monologue or rap around climate change. We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.

So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
