MUSIC fans have hit back at the announcement a vaccine conspiracy theorist will be given a headline slot at TRSMT.

Ian Brown is one of the big names announced to top the bill at the Glasgow Green festival rescheduled for September.

The Stone Roses frontman has come under fire for his outspoken tweets which have cast doubt on the necessity of wearing masks to stop the spread of Covid. He pulled out of the line-up of the Neighbourhood Weekender in Warrington expected to go ahead in September.

One Twitter user said: “They need to replace Ian Brown. I'm not going to a gig to listen to his rants.”

Another said: “So TRNSMT are happy to have dangerous anti-vax moron Ian Brown as one of their headliners?”

In a tweet from November, the I Wanna Be Adored singer said: “I’m not anti-vaccine. I’m anti this vaccine.

“Experimental rushed and flawed, sold to us by the self-same devious creeps and liars who stand to share trillions.”

TRNSMT was approached for comment.
