The National:

YOU may have noticed a new parody account with the Scottish Tory leader’s face on it pop up on Twitter over the last 24 hours.

No, Douglas Ross is not going by yet another name following the Prime Minister’s “Murray Ross” blunder in the Commons yesterday.

The profile is poking fun at the MP for accidentally repeating an NSFW comment during one of his regular Facebook Live Q&As.

It was the third time Ross held one of the sessions, which have previously given us such quotable gems as “I am not on magic mushrooms”, “laptops need restarting” and “Does Nicola Sturgeon like Ikea?”

While hosting this week’s edition, Ross was pranked by a user with the name “Mike Oxsmells”.

It left Ross reading out: “So, Mike Oxsmells. ‘Stop ignoring the tough questions.’”

The Scottish Tory leader snapped back: “I’m really not.”

It wasn’t clear if Ross realised he’d been tricked into saying the rude phrase, but Twitter users certainly did.

The clip was shared widely across social media, in what was another embarrassment for the party during a very rocky week for them.

As ever, we await the next instalment of Ross’s Q&As.
