YESTERDAY The Jouker noted that even BBC presenters couldn’t help but laugh at Tory attempts to cover everything in a Union flag.
It seems Downing Street has been convinced that sticking the flag on any surface that allows it will win the Scots over from the temptation of independence.
Readers constantly point out the bizarre positioning of UK ministers’ massive flags to us. In living rooms, studies, and anywhere a camera is pointing apparently.

During an interview with Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick yesterday, BBC Breakfast presenters Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty were quick to point out his display.
Stayt joked: “I think your flag is not up to standard-size government interview … measurements. It’s just a little bit small, but that’s your department really.”
Munchetty couldn’t hold back her laughter, while she also pointed out there was a picture of the Queen in the office. She added “there always a flag” when Tory politicians come on the show.
Later, the presenter came under fire for “liking” tweets making fun of Tories of their patriotic displays.
She wrote on Twitter: “I ‘liked’ tweets today that were offensive in nature about the use of the British flag as a backdrop in a government interview this morning. I have since removed these ‘likes’.
“This do not represent the views of me or the BBC. I apologise for any offence taken.”
The BBC declined to comment further.
The BBC’s director-general, former Tory candidate Tim Davie, has previously warned BBC staff over their use of social media.
Employees are told that nothing should appear on their social media accounts that “undermine the perception of the BBC’s integrity or impartiality”.
We’ll see what comes of Munchetty’s “likes”, but it seems even mocking Union Jackery isn’t safe anymore …
