Independence for Scotland means our people and our future generations will be able to shape our great country in our own ways, without the need of permission from another country. We would only be governed by the party our electorate choose to serve us.

Only with independence do we have the full fiscal powers to maximise our potential as an outward looking, independent state, allowing us to trade and negotiate the best terms possible that meet our needs, as an equal partner with the rest of the world.

We have all the resources and innovative minds needed to be very successful and only independence can make this happen.

Do we want to "work better together" or do we want independence?

I think with independence we would work together better than we presently do. So in a way I want both.

Where the people of Scotland want to take a different path in whatever area then we need the independence to do so.

In my mind independence does NOT mean we become isolated or insular in international matters. The reverse is what I think we could achieve, and in doing so we would be a good example to the rest of the UK and beyond.

In short I see a Scotland that would take its social and environmental responsibilities in cooperation with countries around the world. To achieve this we need to see the necessity for a world with much more genuine equality.

It is inequality that drives indiscriminate, wasteful consumption that fuels climate and environmental degradation and wars between countries.

I believe we would aspire to have a country in which the people living here would have faith in our government and would comply to the fair and well understood codes of behaviour and laws. A more equal society would be more likely to achieve that.

Regulations and standards would not be dismissed as "red tape" but seen as ways of preserving food standards, health, well-being and safety practices. Trade with other countries who shared these principles would be seen as crucial.

Scotland's international reputation would be one of respect and trust where we did not see ourselves as superior but rather as one with a society in which you would wish your children and grandchildren to grow up.

Scottish independence? It means control of our own destiny. No more dictatorship of Westminster.
