TICKETS have gone on sale for Scotland’s international poetry festival, StAnza, which has moved online in response to Covid restrictions.

Running from March 6 to 14, the festival has created an innovative programme combining StAnza favourites with new events.

Most events are free and ticketed but are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. The festival will get under way with an opening night gala performance packed with poems, film, art and music.

The event will include readings from some of the most acclaimed names in poetry, alongside some of the newest, exciting, emerging voices on the scene.

Names lined up for this year’s festival include Naomi Shihab Nye, Raymond Antrobus and poet, playwright and translator Sasha Dugdale. They will be joined by Imtiaz Dharker, winner of the Queen’s Gold Medal along with Tim Liardet, Maria Stepanova, Rab Wilson, Valzhyna Mort and Christopher Whyte.

Other poets on the programme include Jonathan Edwards, Desree, Courtney Conrad, Jennifer Wong, Inua Ellams and Nabin K Chhetri.
