READERS will recall that several Yes groups sent letters to all independence supporting MPs and MSPs last September to ask about how the politicians see the way forward for the independence cause.

The latest to give her thoughts will be Hannah Bardell, SNP MP for Livingston, who has agreed to take part in a Zoom session with Yes Pentlands, supported by Yes Edinburgh and Lothians.

They told The National: “Yes Pentlands invite you to their first virtual Zoom meeting of the year with Hannah Bardell, who has been an SNP MP at Westminster since being elected in 2015.

“She is currently the SNP spokesperson for digital culture, media and sport. Prior to that she gained valuable political experience working with former first minister Alex Salmond and former SNP MEP Ian Hudghton.

“Hannah has considerable media experience working in commercial television, as well as in the oil and gas sector and even worked for a time with the US state department in their Edinburgh Consulate.

“The arts and sport are among her leisure activities.”

This meeting is the second arranged between SNP and Green Party parliamentarians with Yes Edinburgh and Lothians to debate and discuss the topics raised in the letter sent last September.

Yes groups, independence supporting groups, and individuals are all invited to take part in this free event between 7pm and 8.30pm on Friday, January 15.

Please register at Eventbrite and Zoom details will be sent to you shortly before the event.
