SCOTTISH football stars and Open Goal podcast hosts have pledged their support to the Glasgow Times Bank On Us campaign.

Si Ferry and pals Andy Halliday and Kevin Kyle have urged the city to get behind our pledge to make sure no child goes without on December 25.

The lads began tonight's podcast with a plea to pick up a copy of the Glasgow Times on Friday in order to receive a free paper bag to be filled with goodies and donated to local toy banks ahead of the big day.

"Obviously, it's been a tough year for everyone and we want to make sure every kid wakes up to a toy on Christmas Day," said host Si.

Ex-Rangers star Andy said for football fans who may be feeling down over their team's results, the campaign "made them realise" what matters most this time of year.

Kevin added: "There's kids out there who are less fortunate than some and if you're in a fortunate enough position to help out, please do.

"I've got my own kids, we've all got kids apart from Andy who that'll come to in due course, but it would be nice for every kid to wake up on Christmas Day with something from Santa. It would be amazing."

More information on the campaign and how to get involved will be revealed in Friday's paper.
