THERE have been two new deaths of people who tested positive for coronavirus, Scottish Government figures show.

A further 746 new cases of Covid-19 have also been reported, with the daily test positivity rate at 5.2%, up from 4.4% on Friday the figures released on Sunday show.

A total of 17,046 new tests for Covid-19 were reported.

There were 1049 people in hospital with Covid-19 on Saturday, down from 1077 on Friday. Of these, 76 were in intensive care, a fall of one from Friday.

Of new cases reported, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde recorded the most (229), followed by NHS Lanarkshire (159), NHS Lothian and NHS Ayrshire and Arran recorded the same (78).

There were no new cases reported in the Western Isles, Shetland and Orkney. NHS Borders recorded one new case.

Since the start of the outbreak, 1,176,973 people in Scotland have been tested at least once.

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Scotland now sits at 94,689 and the number of deaths has risen to 3722.
