MANY viewers’ favourite financial expert has fought many consumer battles over the years. In 2005, Lewis led a campaign against unfair bank charges, and in 2008, he appeared on several TV shows telling consumers to cap their energy bills. Three years later, he launched a task force to provide information to students about tuition fees and loans. Despite all these campaigns, many of which have been successful, Lewis admits he is facing his biggest challenge yet – helping people get their finances in order during the pandemic. Tonight he kicks off a new series with a one-hour special, as he and co-host Angellica Bell take viewers’ questions on family finances, jobs and consumer rights.

KIRSTIE Allsopp and Phil Spencer continue to celebrate two decades of the property programme by looking back at the times they have been asked to search for million-pound houses. But with a big budget comes big expectations, as proved by Steve and Dee, who had a list of 34 requirements and a tiny search area.

BEETHOVEN’S hearing loss plunged the composer into isolation and despair, so it’s hard to believe he was capable of producing a symphony such as his Seventh, which pulses with restless energy – and which the Aurora Orchestra plays from memory tonight. Richard Ayres opens tonight’s concert with a deeply personal new work inspired both by Beethoven’s journey into deafness and his own experience of hearing loss, a vivid soundscape in which clarity gradually gives way to confusion.

WILLIE has been in hospital after his collapse, and although he seems to be doing well, the doctor informs the family he needs a new kidney – and the first port of call is always the children. All it takes is a simple blood test, but for Stuart this means facing up to his fear of needles. Meanwhile, a drunken Ted, having been thrown out by Kate, is desperate for her to take him back, and the result of Bertha’s DNA test is due, with April’s ex-fiance Humphrey refusing to go anywhere until he hears where he stands.
