TENS of thousands of people are tweeting about the “Loch Ness Monster” after Donald Trump Jr compared Joe Biden to Nessie during the Republican National Convention.
In a speech, the US president’s son painted the 77-year-old centrist Democrat as someone on the far-left who wants to heavily tax Americans.
The Trump campaign has often referred to Washington as a “swamp” which needs to be “drained”. The Democratic candidate has been working in DC since the 1970s.
Trump Jr told viewers: “Biden has promised to take that money back out of your pocket and keep it in the swamp.
“That makes sense though, considering Joe Biden is basically the Loch Ness Monster of the swamp.
“For the past half-century, he’s been lurking around in there. He sticks his head up every now and then to run for president, then he disappears and doesn’t do much in between."
The comment quickly made waves online – with many quick to point out that Loch Ness, which contains more water than all the lakes of England and Wales combined, is definitely not a swamp.
Reporter Jane Lytvynenko informed her followers: “Look, Don Jr. called Biden "the Loch Ness Monster of the Swamp" and I just need to correct the record here. Nessie lived in a lake and she doesn't deserve this.”
You’d think with the Trumps’ resorts here they might have made an effort to learn some basic facts about the country …
