The team is finding out in this special, as Matt Tebbutt heads to KFC to learn if there’s a way to tackle one of the pitfalls of takeaways – soggy chips. Meanwhile, Kate Quilton finds out how Papa John’s keep its pizzas consistent across 400 different retail outlets.

The Truth About Cosmetic Treatments (BBC1, 8pm)

THE days when cosmetic treatments meant invasive surgeries are long gone – now 90% of so-called “tweakments” to improve our looks avoid the knife all together. That may be one reason why the number of Brits choosing to have one of these procedures has doubled over the past decade. But does it necessarily follow that they are also now safer? That’s what this documentary tries to find out as it explores what is still a largely unregulated industry.

Manctopia: Billion Pound Property Boom (BBC2, 9pm)

LOCAL property developer Tim hits a million-pound problem in the mill he’s converting into luxury apartments, while less than a mile away Anne and her friends face losing their homes to a giant redevelopment scheme. A homelessness support charity Lifeshare is forced to leave the Victorian Charter Street Mission, which it has operated out of for more than 30 years, due to redevelopment of the surrounding area.

How to Avoid a Second Wave (C4, 9pm)

FOR many people, the lifting of lockdown restrictions was a welcome chance to get back to work, go to the pub or even go on holiday. However, with that increased freedom there has also been a creeping rise in the infection rate and local lockdowns. This isn’t a situation unique to Britain – some other countries, in which it seemed the virus was under control, have also reintroduced lockdowns.
