A FAMILY of four has been fined after flouting lockdown restrictions by attempting to travel from London to Motherwell for a “three-day break”.

Cumbria Roads Police stopped the vehicle on the M6 North at J43 yesterday.

The family told the officers they were travelling from London to Motherwell for the break.

The full round-trip would have seen the family travel 800 miles – under current lockdown restrictions only essential journeys are allowed.
