A SCOTTISH Labour politician has been rebuked for his criticism of Scotland’s national clinical director.

MSP Neil Findlay hit out Professor Jason Leitch on social media over his response to the coronavirus crisis.

He claimed the Scottish Government adviser had made a series of misjudgments.

The public criticism came despite the fact that Leitch is unable to respond to criticism from politicians.

Health Secretary Jeane Freeman condemned Findlay for his Twitter outburst.

She replied: “If you disagree with Scottish Government decisions, raise it in the many forums open to you, politician to politician.

“Don’t have a go at government adviser acting in good faith, with many years of learning & international experience but who can’t respond – as you know fine well.”
