THE Kelpies in Falkirk will be lit up blue every night for the remaining period of the Covid-19 crisis as a tribute to NHS and social care workers.
It comes as famous landmarks around Scotland lit up Thursday at 8pm during Clap For Carers, where people in the UK applaud the NHS for their work towards the coronavirus fight.
Previous Scottish landmarks that were lit by blue include Glasgow’s SSE Hydro and the Glenfinnan viaduct, which is featured in the Harry Potter films.
Designed by sculptor Andy Scott each of The Kelpies, constructed of structural steel with a stainless steel outer skin, stands up to 30 metres tall and weighs more than 300 tonnes.
