PIPERS across Scotland and beyond are invited to help pay tribute to the key workers keeping the country fed, cared for and safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday at 8pm, The National Piping Centre is asking all pipers to head to their garden, front door or anywhere you can play safely within the social distancing restrictions, and play Scotland The Brave to support the NHS.

Organisers say the country-wide performance will show gratitude to key workers and help them carry on through the tough time.

Last week saw the first Clap For Our Carers celebration as people around the country stood at their front doors and cheered for healthcare workers on the frontline of the coronavirus fight.

Pipers from the Oban High School Pipe Band played from their respective homes shortly after the 8pm cheer to show their appreciation for the staff.
