WHILE most of us have been going about our daily business as best we can for the past week or so, one of our readers tells us we’re not the only ones.

They said the TV Licensing people had demonstrated their social conscience, with “enforcers” travelling around the Johnstone and Elderslie areas of Renfrewshire last Thursday and Friday, “banging on people’s doors” looking for non-licence-paying miscreants.

“Auld auntie Beeb!” they wrote. “You can always rely on her for a wee comforting cuddle when the sh*t hits the fan.”

A spokesperson for TV Licensing admitted that licence fee officers had been patrolling last week, but added: “Home visits were stopped on March 21 because of coronavirus.”
