BORIS Johnson's official Downing Street Facebook page has spent £0 on coronavirus adverts despite pumping £25,000 into boosting his Brexit Day speech.

In an investigation by Scram, the records for the PM's official Facebook page showed that not a single penny had been spent on pushing coronavirus information to users of the platform.

They also showed that the total spending on three adverts promoting leaving the EU amounted to almost £25,000.

Johnson's personal Facebook account shows a similar story, with more than £200,000 spent on election adverts that reached tens of millions of people, yet nothing has been spent on coronavirus information.

The issue isn't limited to accounts associated with the PM, however. The UK Government's Facebook page hasn't spent any money promoting coronavirus information either, despite just finishing a major advertising drive promoting the Conservative party's achievements.
