BOSSES at the Beano gifted Greta Thunberg a bespoke illustration to thank her for her environmental activism.
The illustration, drawn by Beano artist Nigel Parkinson shows the 17-year-old protesting at Beano High School surrounded by iconic comic characters including Dennis and Gnasher, Minnie the Minx and The Bash Street Kids.
Thunberg was also awarded the Beano Power Award after her climate protests were voted by Beano readers as the “Moment of the Year” in 2019.

One in five children aged between five and nine have already attended their first march or protest about something they care about, and half of their parents are encouraging them to speak out as activists, according to a survey by Beano Studios.
The Beano, which was created in 1938, is the longest-running weekly comic in the world and is published by DC Thomson in Dundee. Thunberg was the headline speaker at the Bristol Youth Strike 4 Climate on College Green in the Bristol which she said she chose to visit because the environmental movement there was “very strong”.
