The first All Under One Banner national assembly has been hailed as a “huge success” by organisers.

More than 60 representatives of Yes groups and other organisations and activists met in Glasgow yesterday to discuss how to grow marches and maximise their impact in 2020.

The grassroots pressure group organised the event to bring together the Yes movement and talk about different strategies and tactics.

Keir McKechnie, an AUOB organiser said: “AUOB Assembly is all about maximising the success of the wider Yes movement in order that #IndyRef2 is held and then Scotland’s independence is secured.

“The assembly builds on the ambitious plans of AUOB to demonstrate the powerful demands of the Scottish people for self-determination.

“It gathered fantastic ideas, strategies and tactics from those who attended. It also established local groups that will maximise the impact of AUOB marches planned for Arbroath, Glasgow, Peebles, Elgin, Kirkcaldy, Stirling and Edinburgh during 2020”
