The Gadget Show Christmas Special (C5, 7pm)

It’s the first week of December, so the gang are celebrating by cramming as many gadgets as possible into an hour. This year, they are spending Christmas at a magnificent manor house. But before they tuck into the turkey, they deck the halls with the latest in techie trees, lights and decorations. Georgie Barrat is on Christmas cooking duties, as aided by a raft of kitchen tech and by Jon Bentley as her sous chef. But will either be of any help with getting Christmas dinner on the table in time?

Unreported World (C4, 7.30pm)

Reporter Krishnan Guru-Murthy leaves the Channel 4 News studio behind and together with director Karim Shah hits the road, heading to the Republic of Mali, a landlocked country in west Africa and the continent’s eighth largest. There, he finds a troubled nation as ongoing fighting and the growing threat of Islamist extremism has severely impacted tourism. Only last month, at least 53 soldiers and one civilian died in an attack by Islamic militants.

The BBC Prime Ministerial Debate (BBC1, 8.30pm)

The leaders of the two main political parties – Boris Johnson of the Conservatives and Jeremy Corbyn of Labour – go head to head in a forum chaired in Southampton by Nick Robinson. Following unprecedented turbulance within Westminster over the past three-and-a-half years, the two will hope to explain why their objectives and visions point out the correct path for Britain to take over the next five years.

The Graham Norton Show (BBC1, 10.40pm)

The host is joined by more Hollywood big hitters as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart drop by for a chat. They are both starring in Jumanji: The Next Level, the upcoming fourth instalment of the movie franchise. Among those joining them on the sofa is actress Jodie Whittaker, who will soon be back with a new season of Doctor Who.
