A SENIOR Tory peer has shared The National's front page on a Conservative candidate who was axed from the party over a sick internet history of Holocaust denial, homophobia and Islamophobia.

Sayeeda Warsi, who was co-chair of the Tories from 2010 to 2012, said the party is "consistently shamed into action" over racism.

She tweeted: "Another day another @Conservatives found to have a history of bigotry - this time Holocaust denial. Homophobic & Islamophobic comments. It’s a shame this has to be done this way – the Party could have been proactively anti racist rather than being consistently shamed into action."

The National uncovered posts from Aberdeen Tory candidate Ryan Houghton which suggested some events around the Nazi regime’s state-sponsored persecution and murder of six million Jews had been “fabricated”.

He also praised the “interesting" research of the discredited British historian and Adolf Hitler apologist David Irving. In another post, he suggested fellow users on the martial arts forum should have a debate on how the Holocaust had been “exaggerated by the victors.”

Warsi has previously hit out at racism and Islamophobia in the party, accusing Health Secretary Matt Hancock of "whitesplaining" Islamophobia to her. She also criticised Boris Johnson's statement the Conservatives would launch a probe into prejudice, saying the party is "only anti-racist to score political points".
