THE Prime Minister has said the chances of the UK leaving the EU without a deal are now "absolutely zero". 

In an interview with the BBC, Boris Johnson was reminded of his insistence that a No-Deal Brexit on October 31 were "a million to one". 

But the Tory leader replied: "Look, people said I couldn’t get a deal... look what we did, it’s ready to go.."

Last year during the Tory leadership campaign Johnson vowed to take the UK out of the EU by the Halloween deadline "do or die". 

However, following the passing of the Benn Act - which forced the PM to request an Article 50 extension from Brussels if he could not secure a deal by October 19 - Johnson was forced to U-turn on the pledge.

He had said he would rather "die in a ditch" than request that extension. 

Johnson was mocked for that statement today following a clash with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon

Speaking from Tory HQ in London earlier, he had ruled out holding a second independence referendum or debating Sturgeon ahead of the December 12 election. 

Responding to the comments, Sturgeon tweeted: "Is this the ‘die in a ditch’ definition of ‘never’?" alongside a crying-laughing emoji.
