A NEW exhibition will demonstrate how the ancient civilisation of Egypt has captivated Scots for the past 200 years.

Discovering Ancient Egypt is a National Museums Scotland touring exhibition which will examine Scotland’s contribution to Egyptology through the lives of three remarkable Scots – Alexander Henry Rhind, Charles Piazzi Smyth and Annie Pirie Quibell – whose work in the field helped to improve our understanding of ancient Egyptian culture.

Items on display include a guardian figure of a falcon (right) and a wooden stela of an unknown woman (above).

The exhibition is at Perth Museum and Art Gallery from January 25 until May 3 2020.
