PUPILS from Scotland’s last remaining state girls school have protested against plans to open the institution to boys.

Teenagers from Notre Dame High School gathered outside Glasgow City Chambers as a petition was handed to Chris Cunningham, city convener for education, skills and early years.

The pupils held a demonstration, with one placard reading: “Empowering girls for 122 years – why change now?” while another declared: “We are not ovary-reacting”.

Councillors will take a decision about Notre Dame’s future on November 28.
