THE Aberdeen Independence Movement (AIM) is to host a pre-SNP conference event in the city next Saturday, October 12, from 7pm.

The event is open to the public and will take place at the Park Inn By the Radisson, and with many people in Aberdeen for the SNP conference, tickets have been selling very quickly.

Ian Blackford MP brings his speaking tour to Aberdeen and is joined by an impressive panel of guests including two of his Westminster colleagues, deputy Westminster leader and local MP Kirsty Blackman, and Dr Philippa Whitford MP. The Rector of the University of Glasgow and leading human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar will also participate.

“This panel alone would make a great night, but we offer much more,” says AIM, which has commissioned the making of a documentary on the local case for Scottish independence.

AIM added: “The project filmed by Unchained Media will hopefully become a blueprint for other local independence groups to follow and adapt. We aim to show a sneak peek of this project on the night.”

Later in the evening AIM will be joined by local comedian SJ Devlin, before Jamie and Jim Rodden get the music started. Jamie has just finished a run at the Edinburgh Fringe with two highly rated shows.

AIM co-organiser Alan Petrie said: “The evening offers the perfect start to the conference with quality discussion, music and more.”
