THERE are still spaces available for an action-packed event, Effective Campaigning for Independence, taking place in Dunfermline on Saturday.

Organised by Fife Plus for Independence, the day-long event boasts a diverse range of speakers and no fewer than 15 interactive workshops covering everything from pensions and currency to citizens’ assemblies and community mapping.

The morning’s keynote speakers will be Professor Kirstein Rummery of Stirling University, presenting her “A vision for a new Scotland” with

a focus on delivering equality across genders and disabilities; and Craig Dalzell of Common Well, speaking on “How to set up an independent country” and then delivering an “Indy Facts Q&A” workshop.

In the afternoon broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli, who was a hit at the AUOB March for Welsh Independence in Cardiff in the summer, will encourage national confidence in his talk “Big enough, rich enough, smart enough” and MSYP Cailyn McMahon, will offer a young person’s perspective with “Our time is now: independence, climate change and the next generation”.

Former Scottish Greens co-convenor Maggie Chapman and Siobhan Tolland from Dundee’s Imagine Scotland group are among those delivering workshops at what is sure to be an inspiring event.

The event will run from 10am-4.30pm (registration from 9.30am) at Dunfermline High School, and you can buy tickets from Eventbrite using the following link: bit.ly/EffectiveFife
