The Great British Bake Off (C4, 8pm)
NOEL Fielding and Sandi Toksvig host the third stage of the culinary competition, with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. Bread Week has arrived, and the remaining bakers face the challenge of proving their worth with Paul’s speciality. First, the contestants must prepare a signature bake that is designed to be shared, while the ingredients for a popular summer staple are lurking beneath the gingham cloth in the technical challenge.
Seahorse: The Dad Who Gave Birth (BBC2, 9pm)
FREDDY is a gay transgender man who longs to start a family, but for him, this desire comes with unique challenges. After years of soul searching, he decided to carry his own baby, but nothing could prepare him for the reality of pregnancy, as both a physical experience and one that challenges society’s understanding of gender, parenthood and family. The 30-year-old soon realises that what to him feels pragmatic, to others feels confusing. Freddy is forced to confront his naivety and lean on every friend and family member who will stand by him.
The Capture (BBC1, 9pm)
THE crucial CCTV footage of Shaun’s supposed crime is seized by a mysterious MI5 officer, leaving Rachel convinced the truth behind the case is not as clear cut as it first appeared. However, getting answers may prove difficult when the surveillance system is found wanting. After a confrontation with his ex-partner, Shaun is determined to prove his innocence, and recruits an old friend to help him break into Hannah’s flat and find evidence.
Suicidal (C5, 9.15pm)
A DOZEN men take their lives every day in the UK. It’s the biggest killer for guys under the age of 45. This film follows six who have considered killing themselves, or even attempted it as they undergo treatment at Riverside Mental Health Centre in Hillingdon, London. It explores the mental health issues that have driven them to this point, including bereavement; isolation or trauma caused by childhood bullying.
