Kirstie and Phil’s Love It or List It, C4, 8pm
KIRSTIE Allsopp and Phil Spencer return to find out how some of the families they have helped are getting on since they decided whether to redesign their problematic homes or sell up and move on. They begin with Paul and Dawn from the first edition back in April 2015. Their country home’s isolated location on the made it perfect for astronomy fanatic Paul, but Dawn was desperate to move, hating its dysfunctional layout.
The Octopus in My House, BBC2, 9pm
IMAGINE living with a creature that has nine brains, three hearts and blue blood running through its veins. Professor David Scheel develops an extraordinary relationship with an octopus after he invites it to live in his home. Heidi unravels puzzles, recognises different humans and even watches TV with the family. This film also shows remarkable behaviour from around the world – from the day octopus, which can change colour and texture in a split second, to the coconut octopus, which carries around its own coconut shell to hide in. Most fascinating of all is seeing how David and daughter Laurel bond with this incredible eight-legged guest.
The Secret Teacher, C4, 9pm
DESPITE being expelled from school at 15, Steven Bartlett runs one of the biggest social media marketing companies in the world. Now he goes undercover at Litherland, a cash-strapped school in Liverpool. He meets Eloise, whose casual attitude hides a difficult past, and Ste, who dreams of becoming a millionaire. Steven also wants to use his own experience to help improve the mental health of staff and students, but how will headteacher Mr Rodgers respond?
This Way Up, C4, 10pm
AINE and Richard’s relationship gets complicated when she is inadvertently invited for dinner but leaves early after an awkward misunderstanding. She concocts a lie to spend the weekend with Shona, much to the annoyance of her boyfriend Vish. Pushed out of the house, Aine pays a visit to a psychic before an unexpected blind date goes horribly wrong. Meanwhile, Shona opens up to Charlotte about her worries for her sister. Comedy, written by and starring Aisling Bea, with Sharon Horgan and Tobias Menzies.
