As we report elsewhere in The National, the All Under One Banner march and rally for independence goes ahead as planned in Ayr today.

There is an urgent message for those intending to take the AUOB Glasgow bus to Ayr which the Yes DIY page passes on.

Fiona Cameron of AUOB told us: “We have been made aware that the road outside The City Chambers is closed so we have arranged an alternative pick up/ drop off location for today.

“The new location is Glasgow Caledonian University on Cowcaddens Road.

“The bus will leave from this location at 11:30am sharp this morning. The bus will leave Ayr at 6:00pm in the evening arriving in Glasgow at 7:00pm approximately.

“Any questions please contact Fiona on the main AUOB page or email allunderonebanner@mail.com.”

Don’t forget that there is a plethora of events being organised in Ayr by the local group Ayr for Independence with plenty of details on their website.

We have also been asked to point out that there will be a much needed foodbank collection at the march today.

Priority things are tinned main meals: curry/ mince/ stew/ chilli, cold meat but not tinned pies, tinned vegetables, tinned or packet potatoes, tinned fruit, pasta, cereals, UHT milk, soap, shampoo etc.

SA Foodbank will have a van at the entrance to Blackburn Carpark on Blackburn Drive until 1:30pm and any donations after that should be handed into the stage at Low Green where the rally takes place.
