1. From ba bru to Bollywood it’s all happening at the Glasgow Mela today in Kelvingrove Park, from 12 noon until 11pm. It’s a riot of colour and fun, with three stages, bands, curry and ceilidh, comics and poetry, as Glasgow people celebrate our rich Glaswegian and Asian culture. Always a brilliant start to summer. A FREE event.

2. Doc ‘n’ Roll, Glasgow’s first music documentary festival, is on this weekend. Ten full-length documentaries at various venues, and, importantly, a free shorts section at Citizen M Glasgow today. Running the full gamut from punk to jazz and everything and everyone in between. All deets on insta @docnrollscot

5. SWG3 hosts the coolest of Art Car Boot sales. Direct from the artists, and while you’re there, enjoy the DJs, streetfood, and, of course, the cooler-than-cool acid bar and terrace. Saturday, 11am.

6. This is my favourite. Big-screen outdoor cinema action comes to Pollock House with events all summer. This Thursday evening it’s cinematic classic The Goonies, 7pm. Popcorn and fun under the stars. My kid and I, and the editor of this fine publication, will be there, so feel free to come along and harass him ;)

7. I’m not a huge fan of the Beeb, but I love, love, love Antiques Roadshow, and today it’s at the V&A in Bonny Dundee. from 9:30am-4:30pm, so dig out the loft and find granny’s old tea set ... you never, ever know! The event is free.
