Asian Dub Foundation

The recent re-issue of 1998 Mercury-nominated album Rafi’s Revenge is a reminder of how radical the Londoner’s fusion of punk, rap and traditional influences remains. This is their only Scottish date this year.

Douniversity

The festival’s new space for discussion and learning workshops features sessions by the Living Rent Campaign, gravitational wave expert Professor Peter Murray and a recording of journalist David Jamieson’s Beyond The Noise podcast with activist and writer Cat Boyd.

Extinction Rebellion Scotland

Members of the non-violent movement share information on their approach to direct action and the campaign for governments to properly tackle the climate emergency.

The National:

In her only festival date, former Pipette-turned multi-lingual high-priestess Gwenno Saunders (right) plays from her psychedelic album Le Kov, sung entirely in Cornish.

Hawkwind

With their cosmic influence cast everywhere from stoner rock to punk and electro, the legendary band oil up the silver machine for the first performance of their 50th anniversary tour.

In a typically delightful bit of programming, the former Czars frontman and ever-evolving solo artist performs before Saturday headliners Sister Sledge.
