FANS of Kathryn Joseph who arrived early to dates on her recent UK tour were treated to another captivating, completely unique artist: the enigmatic SHHE, who plays Southern Exposure next month.

The new alias of Su Shaw, a musician “born in the Highlands and raised in the woods”, SHHE signed a deal with respected label One Little Indian Records following the release of debut single Eyes Shut.

Ghostly and tender, the stunning track features a video shot in Dundee’s West Ward Works with dancers from Scottish Dance Theatre, which is based in the city.

Photographer and dancer Harry Clark directed the video and its follow-up BOY, a short film shot in a forest in Fife. Shaw and Clark made Dundee their home around the same time and Shaw says the move was the catalyst for SHHE, which she says is “a platform for collaboration across different art forms”. SHHE supports Orcadian multi-instrumentalist Erland Cooper at his Queen’s Hall album launch tomorrow.
