TICKETS are now on sale for a mystery live line-up to celebrate the birthday of one of Glasgow’s best-loved music venues.
All funds raised at The Hug And Pint’s fourth birthday raffle will go to Tiny Changes, the new mental health charity set up by the family of Frightened Rabbit’s Scott Hutchison, who took his own life in May 2018 at the age of 36.
Hutchison’s band are among acts to have previously played the Great Western Road venue’s birthday bashes alongside the likes of Paws, Bossy Love, Be Charlotte, BMX Bandits, Free Love, The Spook School and RM Hubbert.
Last year’s birthday party raffle raised almost £2000 was raised for the Scott Hutchison Fund and this year the venue and promoters Detour will also be donating 20% of all ticket income to the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
Last year’s prize haul included weekend tickets to Belladrum and Doune The Rabbit Hole festivals, tickets to see Lewis Capaldi, vinyl goodie bags from the likes of Mogwai, Idlewild, Fatherson, Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert and meals at The Hug And Pint, Bloc and The Glad Cafe.
Ryan Drever, of The Hug And Pint, said the line-up will include “some of our favourite bands in the universe”.
“You have our word that this year’s billing is an absolute juggernaut,” he says.
