THURSDAY evening’s Question Time was pure, unadulterated BBC bias at its vainglorious best, with Nigel Farage stealing the show in his inimitable way. His simplistic, ill-informed tirades reminded me of how Alf Garnett would have sounded after a course of anabolic steroids.

As pure theatre, it was both utterly entertaining and profoundly sad simultaneously. Doubtlessly, Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party will appeal to those who, despite all evidence to the contrary, believe that “Brexitannia” will, one day in the not-too-distant future, arise from the ashes to rule the waves once more. Sadly, the dodo was mistaken for a phoenix.

WHOEVER controls the media, controls the mind. Fiona Bruce wasn’t in control on Thursday night, Nigel Farage was.
