The National:

FORMER work and pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith was throughougly humiliated earlier as the ex-director general of the WTO made no effort to disguise how he felt about his Brexit plan.

The Chingford and Woodford Green MP was on Politics Live talking about future trade after the UK leaves the EU.

Duncan Smith said: "It comes down to one element, all of these are the debate about what the future relationship should be. But the truth is you could get this deal through, if the EU and the UK were prepared to agree to the alternative arrangements on the Irish border, which allow you to have no fixed border in the process."

At this point, Pascal Lamy sits back in his chair, rolls his eyes so intensely that it's a legitmate health concern, whirls his hands around and shakes his head.

That's how most of us feel when we have to listen to Duncan Smith talk, Lamy.
