ALL Under One Banner is breaking new ground this year by taking its marches and rallies for independence to new venues around the country.

One of them is Oban, on June 15, and today at 1pm AUOB is looking for volunteers from anywhere to come along and get involved in the local organisation of the march.

This afternoon’s meeting is in the Corran Halls in Oban and will hopefully see local people volunteer to participate in the organisation of the march, which AUOB is confident will “set the town’s streets ablaze with Saltires and Lions Rampant on June 15.”

Organisers hope that tens of thousands will attend on the big day in Oban and stated: “We are sure that this year’s event will put an end to the spun myth that there is no appetite amongst the Scottish people for an independent Scotland.”

The Oban event is one of the new departures for AUOB on its first National Tour of marches and rallies which get under way in Glasgow on Saturday, May 4, then visits Galashiels on June 1, Oban on June 15, Ayr on July 6, Campbeltown on July 27, Aberdeen on August 17, Perth on September 7 and concludes in Edinburgh on October 5.

AUOB spokesperson Fiona Cameron said: “All Under One Banner is taking our National Tour to the ancient town of Oban to show how massively independence is supported in the gateway to the Hebrides.

“Our marches will declare loud and clear that the end of days is nigh for the UK as the Scots rise up to regain our nation’s freedom.”
