EMANNUEL Macron will veto any attempt by the UK Government to postpone Brexit, according to French magazine Le Point.

Theresa May has written to European Council president, Donald Tusk, to request an extension to Article 50 until June 30 while she attempts to gather support from MPs for her withdrawal agreement.

The request, however, requires the unanimous approval of all 27 of the other EU members.

Earlier this afternoon, a document from the EU Commission indicated that May's request to extend Article 50 until the end of June is not a workable solution.

Le Point wrote: "For Macron, it is decided: we must refuse to allow the British to postpone the Brexit, scheduled for March 29. In any case, this is the position he will express on Thursday at the European Council."
