The National:

If you're going to take a swing at one of your political opponents, the very least you can do is a little research before-hand...

Lib Dem MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton was left red-faced after tweeting a witty quip about Sturgeon's trips abroad, saying he was looking forward to the day she would "strengthen ties with our largest trading partner" England.

He feigned surprise that this hadn't happened, and we'll leave it to you, dear reader, to work out what he was implying.

However, his attack backfired when Nicola Sturgeon pointed out that a new investment hub in London had already launched, and that she'd been in England just a few weeks prior to promote business links.

The Jouker agrees with Sturgeon on this one. It really is embarrassing how out of touch with current events Alex Cole-Hamilton appears to be...

Perhaps the worst part was when Cole-Hamilton tried to make a come back and started complaining about independence instead.

At least one of them is getting on with the day job...
