THE hard-working members of Yes Linton are holding their first ever St Andrew’s Night Ceilidh and are inviting people from across their area or beyond to join them in West Linton for what is sure to be a fun night.

It might not be as glam as Strictly Come Dancing but with the excellent Matt Seattle Ceilidh Band providing the music, there will be no lack of entertainment in the Graham Institute on November 30.

Proceedings will start at 7pm when the doors open, with the music commencing at 7.30pm.

The ticket price of £12.50 includes delicious stovies from the local Pyet Deli, but please be advised it does not include drinks as you will have to bring your own bottle.

Tickets are available from Eventbrite or in person from the estimable Glenda Meek at Rumbling Tam’s shop in the village.

A spokesperson for Yes Linton said: “We have organised several events but this is the biggest event we have put on yet.

“We have been going for over a year now and our membership is increasing all the time. Indeed we recently welcomed the actress and writer Gerda Stevenson to our list of members.

“Our St Andrew’s Night event will be a family friendly ceilidh for people of all ages and political persuasions and we would particularly like to encourage people from the various Yes groups around us in the Borders, Lanarkshire and Lothians to join us for what we are sure will be a fun evening of music and dance with the Matt Seattle Ceilidh Band.”
