WHILE the barbarous murder of Saudi journalist Khashoggi has appalled all decent people in the West, another form of terror has been simmering away since 2010 in Pakistan.

A Christian lady, Asia Bibi, has been on death row there ever since being wrongfully accused of blasphemy by spiteful neighbours. Although their Supreme Court has finally said that she will be freed, the incensed mob of thousands demanding that she be hanged have been assuaged by the court’s recent ruling that she would not be allowed to leave the country.

That is like the ancient Romans throwing unarmed Christians to the lions at the Coliseum! It is cynically sinister in the extreme. Most countries would want to expel “undesirables”, but not Pakistan.

Considering that the UK keeps low-life like Anjem Choudhary walking around, could I suggest that we swap him for Asia Bibi, her husband and four children? If any harm befalls this lady and her family, the UK should immediately impose sanctions on Pakistan.
