SCOTRAIL has issued travel advice for those travelling to see Bruce Springsteen in Edinburgh on Tuesday evening.

The American singer is due to play at Murrayfield as he kickstarts the UK leg of his tour.

He’ll be playing in front of a sold-out stadium with fans from all across Scotland expected to travel to the capital.

What has ScotRail said?

In a post on their Twitter, ScotRail said that “extra carriages and additional services” will be running once the concert finishes.

Gates are due to open at 4.30pm and they have advised people to “get to the venue early”.

For those travelling from Fife, the train operator said: “You may wish to consider using Edinburgh Gateway station for travel to and from the concert.

“Edinburgh trams operate fast and frequent connections between the entrance of BT Murrayfield and the station.”

Where are the extra trains running from?

ScotRail says that “extra trains” are planned for those heading to “Fife and Glasgow” once the concert ends.

“We’d encourage you to walk, if you can, back to the station for travel to and from the concert.

“Edinburgh Trams operate fast and frequent connections between the entrance of BT Murrayfield and the station.

“Buying return tickets in advance via the mTicket system on the ScotRail app will help your day run smoothly.

“As with all large events, we’ll have extra staff on hand to assist you, and please remember that the carrying and consumption of alcohol is prohibited on our trains and in our stations.”
