IT seemed that today everyone had been given the day off so that they could witness a funeral. Oh really? Nurses? Public transport workers? Policemen and prison guards? Journalists and broadcasters? The forgotten folk who keep the lights on? I don’t hardly think so.

Neither should we forget that, not so very long ago, many, many people were prevented from attending the laying to rest of their close relatives.

The only people who are forced to have this day off are those imprisoned for defending the environment, or railing against the hereditary privilege inflicted upon us by the House of Lords and the monarchy that makes its existence possible.

It really is time for Scotland to separate from this right-wing bunch of Westminster sycophants.
